Pompeii

Did you see it? Did you like it? In spite of the fact, that it had elements I usually avoid in movies--I won't mention what they are since I don't want them to be spoilers--I really enjoyed this movie. If you've seen it, let me know what you thought about it.

A little history: Founded in seventh century BC, Pompeii was a Roman town in Italy. It was destroyed by the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius in 79 AD. Pompeii's 20,000 inhabitants were buried under twenty feet of ash.

How funny, Sandra. I'm going to see this movie in two hours! Being a geologist, for me it's all about the volcano! I cannot remember when I first learned about Pompeii. I've been fascinated with the city and the volcano from my earliest childhood! I'll let you know what I think!

My boyfriend and I love epic movies so we are very interested in seeing this one. We wanted to see it this weekend but will be going to see Imagine Dragons and Naked and Famous instead=) I'd like to see Pompeii or the second 300 over the next couple of weeks.

Hi Pat, a director's got to do what a director's got to do:)

Hey Robin, it hasn't gotten as much hype as I would have thought. I heard about it at Dez's blog.

Hey Julia, We wait for red box for a lot of movies. This one just comes off really well on the big screen for some of the scenes.

I didn't know they'd made a movie. Hubby and I visited Pompeii last year. I was actually a bit disappointed since they didn't have a museum there. All the artifacts are elsewhere. It was pretty amazing walking the streets and stepping over the wagon ruts etc.
